BOPHELONG. -The community of Extension 16 nearly caused havoc as they wanted to grab a rape suspect out of the polices’ hands recently.

The angry community started swearing and shouting as police escorted the man to show them the crime scene in his shack yesterday around 19:00. The community demanded the police release him and they promised they will deal with him accordingly. The man is suspected of murder and rape of his step-sister. The two lived in the same house. 28-year-old Dineo Diphoko was found by a passerby on a dumping site meters away from her home on 06 April. The single mother of two, was allegedly raped before she was strangled to death.

Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Gertrude Makhale said that police have opened an inquest and investigations continue.
