Sicelo residents get First Responders Training from GDoH

The community of Sicelo today received the First Responders Training from GDoH.

MIDVAAL. – Gauteng Health and Wellness MECĀ Nomantu Nkomo Ralehoko was this morning joined by ward councillor Michael Ndebele and pastor Bongani Sindelo in Sicelo, Midvaal for the First Responders Training.

The training was provided by Lebone College of Emergency Care( LCOEC )- GPG EMS.

TheĀ  training will equip residents with lifesaving skills they can use in an emergency while awaiting qualified medical personnel.

Speaking recently, Nkomo Ralehoko said the training was important as it could help save lives.

“Our experience has taught us that townships, informal settlement and hostels are areas where there are always challenges, particularly of access which results in emergency responses sometimes being delayed.

“Having your First Responder Training means that you have all the basic and necessary skills to help save a life. It will teach you exactly how to act and take control of an emergency incidents, depending on the specific situation,” She said.
