SEDIBENG – Sebokeng-born dancer Musa Motha, poured his emotions on his Instagram account after losing in Britain’s Got Talent series 16 finale, but bagging a National Dance Award.
While the 27-year-old amputee who lost his leg at an early age due to cancer, said he felt as if he disappointed the world by not winning in the talent show, and certainly feels blessed for his recognition at the 2023 National Dance Awards.
The winners were announced on Monday, June 5, at The Coronet Theatre in Notting Hill Gate, London.
Motha became popular to many when he received a first-ever group Golden Buzzer at the BGT, which saw him go through to the semi-finals in the competition. Motha saw all four judges press the buzzer together, and gold confetti rained down on him and landed him a spot among the finalists.

Taking to his Instagram, Motha said “In life, we focus more on the future and don’t realize we are in the middle of what we prayed for. Just last night I was avoiding to check my socials because I felt like I have failed the world by not winning the @bgt and even not making it to the top 3/2.
“But then I have realised how blessed I am to have reach so many hearts and my mission is complete. Thank you to @bgt for the opportunity. And guess what?, Today we won an award for the Emerging Artist. Thank you, National Dance Awards, for this beautiful award and recognition. Big shoutout to @viggovenn , he is amazing and he deserves the win.”
