SASOLBURG – He worked for Metsimaholo Local Municipality in Sasolburg for 44 years.
From holding various roles in the Municipality including the acting Director of Social Services to now being a manager in the Waster Unit, Lusizi Thile has called it a day.
On, Friday, September 01, the municipality held a send-off party at their offices to bid farewell to the dedicated 60-year-old.
In a statement, the Director of Social Services, Sello Mokoena took the opportunity to appreciate and thank Thile for serving the municipality and the people of Metsimaholo.
“On behalf of the social services department of Metsimaholo municipality we take this opportunity to thank Mr Thile for his years of service to our municipality, community, and all stakeholders and for his contribution to the sustainability and development of our municipality,” he said.
Giving a speech during the intimate session, Thile said he was grateful for the time he had spent at the municipality and the relationships he had made.
He further thanked the municipal management and the staff for having supported him throughout his journey at the municipality including organizing a beautiful farewell for him.
Bidding Mr Thile farewell, Basi Motloung, the Acting Municipal Manager said Thile served the municipality with distinction, diligence, dedication, and resolve. “He served the community of Metsimaholo municipality with reverence and humility through the most challenging times,” he said.
Motloung, as well as the Head of administration, wished Thile the best in his ‘well-deserved’ retirement.
