Sewerage fills family’s yard

Several attempts to get the problem fixed by the relevant authorities have been unsuccessful.

BOPHELONG.- The smell of sewerage that is filling their yard is troubling the Motale family in Bophelong.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Betty Motale said that it has been months now that sewage is all over their yard. Not only the Motale family is affected by this situation but also their next-door neighbours. Motale said that several attempts to get the problem fixed by the relevant authorities have been unsuccessful.

“We went to report this to Metsi-A-Lekoa but even today we are still waiting for them. It is frustrating because no human being can live under these conditions. There is a smell all over the yard and worse even in the house. What else we must do for our situation to be attended to because we have reported this situation? Sedibeng Ster newspaper is our last hope to get our situation resolved, said Motale.

Motale said that the problem actually started last September and that despite reporting this to the local authorities they never got help.

She claimed that a certain subcontractor came and worked on the problem, but left it unfinished because they claimed were not paid.

  • Sedibeng Ster will follow up on this matter with relevant authorities.
