Vaal Marina police launch 16 days of activism

VAAL MARINA. – The Vaal Marina SAPS launched 16 days of activism for no violence against women and children through a workplace intervention at the Water and Sanitation Shaft.

The station corporate communication, sector commander together with various stakeholders addressed workers about crime against women and children and human trafficking.

Police spokesperson Tshilidzi De Huis says: “The team gave festive season tips to the community. During the engagement, workers were allowed to explain how they understand human trafficking and how they think human trafficking can be prevented.

“The team explained the definition of domestic violence, types of abuse, protection order, and the importance of counseling,” she said.

De Huis states that the objective of the event was to provide important information to members of the community.

“About 60 people were addressed, 48 domestic violence pamphlets distributed and 40 human trafficking pamphlets were handed out.”
