CPF apprehends “possible house breaking suspect”

Man takes CPF on a bizarre cat-and-mouse game for almost 5 hours.

An alleged possible house breaking suspect became embroiled in a drawn-out cat-and-mouse game with Sector 3 Patrollers, SAPS Sector members, Security Companies and Entities, community members and a centre management member, as he hid on top of a shopping complex roof when he noticed he was reported.

Cross Border Operation

On Thursday, April 6 several Operations were conducted around Vanderbijlpark. In the evening Sector 3 CPF patrollers went and supported the Cross Border Operation speaking to Rural Safety around Vanderbijlpark Small Holdings and are held monthly as a collective Operation between Vanderbijlpark, Barrage, Sasolburg and Parys SAPS.

CPF Vanderbijlpark Sector 3 said late in the evening a request for assistance was posted on a SE 2 Crime platform with regards to possible house breaking suspect in the area.

Sector 3 Patrollers immediately responded and the person started a cat and mouse game when he noticed he was reported.

“He was traced and chased until patrollers managed to corner him on top of a shopping complex roof. SAPS Sector members, Security Companies and Entities, community members and a centre management member came to assist and after almost 5 hours from the initial report, the suspect was arrested.”

The Sector Manager thanked and congratulated every one that assisted and the level of members commitment to Community Safety and perseverance that resulted in “They got their man”.
