DJ Timer 94 comes from humble beginnings

"My family used to play good music and this is how I learned about music."

SEBOKENG.- Solomon Moshodi aka Timer 94’s love for djing started way back when his parents’ home was a tarven where people would come to have drinks and enjoy good music.

This was during those days when “LPs” were most popular and his older brother Steven Moshodi would ask him to change the LPs. This is how he started to develop a love for music and his break came when started to play at ‘Ha Mokapelwa’ who groomed him to be the person he is today in the industry.

“My brother, I have been in this game for decades now and I’m still passionate about what I’m doing thanks to my family because this is where I learned about music. My family used to play good music and this is how I learned about music.”

“I also used to listen to Y FM and people like DJ Fresh, DJ Khabzela, and others inspired me to be in this industry. I used to listen to them a lot, and I learned a lot from them and others. I play Soul, R&B, Afro, and Smooth Jazz mostly.”

“I’m just grateful to share the stage with some of the big names in this entertainment industry. This made me grow as a person, especially in this industry and I’m still going strong after all these years. We have introduced this movement we called it VSVM where we come together and play old school music with LPS,” said Moshodi.

Apart from being a busy man, especially on weekends, because of his schedule, Moshodi is a husband and a father who always puts his busy schedule aside and spends time with his family, his wife, and her daughter.
