TYM Sedibeng Music Studies launches
"I believe this is something that is missing at school level to make music compulsory because music is part of a career."
SEBOKENG.- Toughest Young Mind (TYM) Sedibeng launched Sedibeng Music Academy to empower youth through music excellence. This launch took place at Maboelleng Primary School in Zone 13, Sebokeng.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Mzwakhe Msibi said the launch purpose is to teach children how to read, write, and compose music. He said they targeted eight schools, four primary schools and four secondary schools. Msibi said the programme needs more space for rehearsal. According to Msibi they approached 10 schools and only Maboelleng Primary accepted The TYM Sedibeng Musical Academy Studies Programme’s proposal.
“I promise you once this programme gets running there will be no learners interested in drugs but focusing on being leaders of their peers.”
Msibi further said that the launch was successful with learners excited to learn about music.
“Through music learners can achieve great things in life. Our vision is to position the TYM Sedibeng Music Academy Programme as a leading force in the fighting against drug misuse and substance abuse among young people, schools and the community at large in Sedibeng region. To instil a deep appreciation for music and peer support, we aspire to not only address immediate challenges related to substance abuse but to create a lasting impact on the social fabric of our community. “Though our innovative lasting impact approach to use music as a tool for empowerment and education, we envision a future where the TYM Sedibeng Music Academy serves as a model for youth development, inspiring positive change and resilience in individuals and communities alike,” said Msibi.

Some of the schools TYM Sedibeng Music Academy targeted include Bulamadiboho Primary School, Ekujuleni Primary, Elite Primary, Mosioa Primary and Maboelleng Primary School to mention a few.
