PSL PSL babies visit Vaal

The game between Pirates and Richards Bay is scheduled to start at 10:00.

SEDIBENG.- Premiership League (PSL) will turn the Vaal into a battlefield when they clash in the DSTV Diski Challenge (DDC) this coming weekend.

This DDC affair is scheduled to take place at the Isak Steyl Stadium on Saturday and Sunday. Local soccer fans will be treated to two exciting games: Orlando Pirates and Richards Bay on Saturday, and Sekhukhune United and Amazulu on Sunday.

The game between Pirates and Richards Bay is scheduled to start at 10:00, while United and Amazulu are scheduled to kick off at the same time on Sunday. Sedibeng Ster Sport must, however, highlight that these DDC games failed to attract a large number of supporters. Local soccer fans claim the games are far from the community.

Supporters feel that if PSL brings these DDC games into the community, they will fill the venues to capacity. Local soccer fans are pleading with PSL to bring these games to the George Thabe and Boipatong Stadiums.

Sedibeng Ster Sport can attest to the fact that the recent DDC games are played in front of only a handful of people. Back to the upcoming games, Pirates find themselves in an unfamiliar position on the log, stuck on fifth.

This is not where they belong considering where they finished on the log for the past two seasons. It is now or never when they meet Richards Bay, who is languishing at position eight on the log. It is not going to be easy for Pirates’ babies come Saturday. In another game, promised to produce fireworks, United will be looking for nothing but a win against Amazulu.

These two teams are positioned in ninth and 10th place respectively on the log. It will be a matter of who wants to win the most when they meet on the field this coming Sunday.
