Former soccer greats discuss Sedibeng football future

“We are happy with how the meeting turned out and addressed some important matters."

VEREENIGING.- Former soccer greats came together to discuss the future of Sedibeng football at a meeting that took place at Sedibeng District Municipality (SDM) offices this past Monday.

One notable name in this important meeting was former South African Football Association (SAFA) President Dr Molefi Oliphant, also SAFA Lifetime President. Sedibeng Ster Sport has learned that at the top of the agenda was the much-anticipated Soccer Indaba.

The meeting was attended by former soccer players together with former and current football administrators, including coaches. Some in attendance at the meeting told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the meeting was a great success, but that Sedibeng football will never be the same again. They told Sedibeng Ster Sport that things are about to change for good in local football. One of the things that was discussed was the possibility of having a top-flight football club in this region.

“We are happy with how the meeting turned out and addressed some important matters. As a region, our players deserve better care and opportunities to make PSL headlines. We are pleased to see people like Dr Oliphant willing to help transform Sedibeng football to be great again,” they happily told Sedibeng Ster Sport.
