The generous donation included school shoes, trousers, socks, and other essential uniform items, ensuring that no child felt left out or disadvantaged.

SASOLBURG – The air was filled with excitement and joy as the Back-to-School Mayoral Campaign brought hope and dignity to young learners in Zamdela.
On March 13, two schools, Kopanelang Thuto and Tsatsi Primary School, became the centre of a heartfelt initiative aimed at uplifting the lives of children in need.
Organised by the Office of the Executive Mayor in partnership with Seriti Coal Mine, this noble initiative sought to ensure that every child steps into the classroom with confidence, dressed in a full school uniform that not only enhances their appearance but also fosters a sense of pride and belonging.
At both schools, the moment was nothing short of magical as learners beamed with excitement, their eyes lighting up with pure joy as they received their brand-new uniforms.
The generous donation included school shoes, trousers, socks, and other essential uniform items, ensuring that no child felt left out or disadvantaged. The campaign’s core mission was to put a smile on the faces of these young learners, affirming that they, too, deserve to feel beautiful, valued, and equipped for success.
The event was graced by executive mayor Jack Malindi alongside MMC for Special Programmes Angy Mofokeng, representatives from Seriti Coal Mine led by community officer Dibuseng Montshana, municipal officials, as well as teachers and learners from both schools.
Their presence not only emphasised the importance of community support in education but also reinforced the commitment of local leadership to the well-being of the future generation.
In their remarks, the dignitaries underscored the power of education as a tool for transformation, encouraging learners to embrace their studies with dedication and enthusiasm.
As young boys and girls tried on their new school shoes and neatly pressed uniforms, their laughter and gratitude painted a picture of hope and renewed confidence.
For many, this was more than just receiving clothing, it was a reminder that they are seen, supported, and capable of achieving greatness.
The campaign’s impact stretched beyond material donations; it ignited a sense of dignity, belonging, and motivation among learners, empowering them to walk into their classrooms with pride.
