Pirates and United host Sundowns and Cape Town City in the Vaal

These much-anticipated fixtures are scheduled to take place at Vaal of Technology (VUT)’s Isak Steyl Stadium in the Vaal over Easter weekend.

SEDIBENG.-  Local soccer fans should brace themselves for a football humdinger when Orlando Pirates and Sekhukhune United host Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City, respectively, in the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC).

These much-anticipated fixtures are scheduled to take place at Vaal of Technology (VUT)’s Isak Steyl Stadium in the Vaal over Easter weekend.

The game between Pirates’ babies and Sundowns will take place on Saturday (April 19), while United and Cape Town City will face each other the following day at the same venue. These are high-profile games to play in the Vaal on the same weekend. The game between Orlando Pirates and Sundowns is expected to be a full house, considering the history between the two sides. The Pirates versus Sundowns game always attracts interest from the local soccer fans.

The same is expected on April 19.

Looking at the log standings, Pirates is fifth, while Sundowns’ babies are third.

This game has all the ingredients to make it exciting and provide good football. Both teams are coached by club legends, Joseph Makhanya and Surprise Moriri. These two greats also had an opportunity to play against each other during their football career.
