Boiketlong construction site robbed

SEBOKENG.- The Sebokeng police are on the lookout for 6 Sotho speaking men that are suspects in a business robbery that occurred at the Boiketlong construction site on Saturday morning.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane said that in the early hours of Saturday, April 12, employees were conducting patrol duties at Boiketlong Construction site when one employee 6 men approaching him.
“He thought it was his colleagues, but surprisingly one of them withdrew a firearm from his waist and pointed it at him. He was instructed to cooperate and both his hands and feet were then tied with a wire. He was left lying on the ground and guarded by one of the suspects while others took another direction.”
Mokhachane continued, “After a while, the suspect who was guarding the employee, instructed him not to move. A few minutes after the suspect left, the employee heard several gunshots, and he untied himself. He ran to the buildings for safety and met with his colleague, who was also left with both hands tied.”
Both employees inspected the premises and upon further investigation, they noticed that the store room’s doors were opened and solar panels, inverters, batteries, and drilling machines were stolen. The victims sustained no injuries during the incident.
On investigation by the Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC), cartridges were found on the ground.
The suspects are 6 unknown men whose faces were not covered, they spoke South Sotho and cannot be identified as it was dark.
