Eight-year sentence for jealous lover

VEREENIGING. – The Vereeniging Magistrate’s court recently sentenced John Sefatsa to eight years imprisonment, which is wholly suspended for five years, for stabbing his ex-girlfriend.
Sharpeville police spokesperson, Constable Busisiwe Sango, said that on the night of November 25, 2024, a case of assault was opened at the Sharpeville Police Station after a woman reported that her (then) boyfriend, John Sefatsa, had stabbed her multiple times.
“Sefatsa accused the victim of cheating on him after they were robbed the same evening by unknown suspects. The docket was assigned to Warrant Officer Nkhetheni Dali, who worked tirelessly to ensure that the accused faces the full might of the law,” Sango said.
The Station Commander of the Sharpeville police station, Colonel Jermina Mapalo Khasuli, welcomed the sentence and thanked Dali for his hard work and dedication in ensuring justice was served.
