SEBOKENG.- Detective Sergeant Tshidiso Phale was recently praised for portraying professionalism and dedication.

The Regional Court of Sebokeng convicted and sentenced a 33-year-old Lesotho man, Teboho Motubetube, to 15 years imprisonment after the investigating officer, Detective Phale of Sebokeng SAPS, secured a conviction for murder, assault, and an illegal immigrant status.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane, said that the incident occurred on March 1, 2023, when it was alleged that the deceased, Teko Khosa (39), was at Stongo’s Shebeen in Boiketlong, Sebokeng, when Motubetube kicked someone’s beer bottle.

“A dispute erupted, and the deceased tried to calm the situation without success, until the suspect, Motubetube, took out a knife and stabbed Khosa several times on the upper body. He was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead.”

Mokhachane adds that the suspect was traced and arrested on the same day he committed the heinous crime.
