CAF D-License Coaching Course underway in Vaal

The course is conducted by former Bafana Bafana and Banyana Banyana players, Augustine Makalakalane and Reneilwe ‘Maestro’ Mathibela.

SEDIBENG.- The CAF D-License Coaching Course is taking place at Rand Water Vereeniging.

This coaching course, hosted by SAFA Sedibeng in conjunction with Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA), started on August 25 and will run until September 2.

The course is conducted by former Bafana Bafana and Banyana Banyana players, Augustine Makalakalane and Reneilwe ‘Maestro’ Mathibela.

These legends, who come from the Vaal, have been part of the SAFA coaching department conducting coaching courses on behalf of the organisation throughout the country.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, ELFA’s head of Technical, Paul Motsepe, said that this coaching course will come to an end with the coaches conducting coaching clinics for school kids at George Thabe Stadium in Sharpeville on Monday. Motsepe said the coaches who attended this coaching course come from the Vaal and from across the country.

Motsepe said it is important to attend these coaching courses. He also urges women, especially former women’s soccer players, to come forward to be part of these coaching courses. He said SAFA also wants to see more women, especially former Banyana Banyana players and others, being involved in coaching.

“As the Emfuleni Local Football Association, our mandate is to ensure that development in Emfuleni is empowered; hence, we will continue to organise such programmes. I’m happy because at least eighteen local coaches from our club level and local institutions are part of this CAF D-License Coaching Course, which is underway. This is something we encourage development coaches to attend for the sake of these youngsters,” he concluded.
