Tshepang Moremi does it again

The Sharpeville community is expected to give these two youngsters a heroic welcome when they come back from Morocco on Tuesday or Wednesday.

SHARPEVILLE.- Tshepang Moremi’s performance at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) was something to take note of.

This Sharpeville-born youngster proved he is a quality player competing against the best not only on the continent but in the world. He continued from where he left off in the PSL as he produced a five-star performance at the AFCON.

Moremi was one of the players who stood out for Bafana Bafana every time he started the match or came in as a substitute.

He could have scored his first AFCON goal against Angola, but it was not allowed. However, he made a strong comeback when Bafana Bafana defeated Zimbabwe 3-2 in the group stages. No doubt, this performance might earn him a place in the Bafana Bafana team for the upcoming World Cup.

Bafana Bafana’s elimination in the tournament robbed the world of witnessing more of his potential on the big stage.

However, his homeboy, Relebohile Mofokeng, only played one game of the AFCON.

Much was said and written prior to the AFCON about Mofokeng; however, he watched from the bench.

Back to Moremi, he has been consistent in the domestic league for Orlando Pirates, scoring crucial goals for the club. This is the performance that saw Bafana Bafana Coach Hugo Broos select him for the team, and he didn’t disappoint. Sedibeng Ster Sport has been following Moremi’s performance from the early stages of his soccer career on the dusty soccer streets in Sharpeville.

This was long before he joined Rosina Sedibeng School Sports. Next thing, he showed up in Amazulu’s colours, where he made a name for himself. His move to the Pirates was influenced by his outstanding performance at Amazulu.

Meanwhile, the Sharpeville community is expected to give these two youngsters a heroic welcome when they come back from Morocco on Tuesday or Wednesday.
