MEYERTON.- It seems as if Young Pirates FC is back in the ABC Motsepe League title race.
This was after the Sedibeng-based team beat the Tshwane South College FC 2-1 in the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League match at the Sicelo Stadium on Sunday.
This restored Pirates FC’s ambition for the title race, as they move to third place on the log.

They have accumulated 31 points from 17 games, separated by a goal difference between them and second-place Dinoko City FC. The two played the same number of games. Pirates came into this encounter fifth on the log. They came into this fixture with one thing on their mind: a win to put pressure on Free Agents FC and Dinoko City at the top. It was a huge win for the home team after being in touch with the title race, especially narrowing the gap at the top.

The league looks exciting with the five top teams fancying their chances for the title at the end of the season.
Pirates FC is a surprise package in the ABC Motsepe. In their first season in the league, they find themselves among the best teams at the top.
They look like they will cause an upset come the end of the season. They were promoted to the ABC Motsepe League after being crowned the SAFA Sedibeng Hollywoodbets champions and did exceptionally well to win promotion in the Inter-Regional Play-Offs.
They have cemented their place in this league, and it seems as if they would be in no way coming back to the lower league, looking at their performance in the ABC Motsepe League. No one would be able to say this is their first season in this SAFA second division league.
