Florika Viljoen earns her spot among the Mrs South Africa semi-finalists
“I love the woman I have become, because I fought to become her and this year, I’m ready to grow even stronger and lift other women as I rise."
VANDERBIJLPARK.- The Mrs South Africa class of 2026 has been chosen, with Vanderbijlpark’s Florika Viljoen proudly joining the over 100-strong sisterhood of influential women set to embark on this “MBA of Life” in the months ahead.
“This milestone is personal to me. It’s a reminder that it’s never too late to grow, to rediscover my power and to build a legacy of strength and compassion.” says Viljoen.
She received the good news at the live casting event on 31 January at Clearwater Mall in Roodepoort – one of multiple casting days that were held nationwide this year.

Powered by iME, Mrs South Africa is one of the country’s most demanding yet fulfilling leadership and empowerment programmes geared towards women seeking greater depth in their lives, supporting them in bringing about real change in their communities.
More of a structured development programme than a once-off pageant experience, semi-finalists commit to a packed calendar that includes self-improvement workshops, mentorship, and media training, as well as meaningful community involvement and public appearances, all designed to build confidence and produce a cohort capable of impacting and inspiring South Africans nationwide.
Viljoen has a wealth of experience that will help her navigate this chapter. “Years of leading an award‑winning higher education institution, my seventeen‑year marriage and motherhood have each shaped me into a woman who values humanness, leads with heart, purpose and authenticity. Now, I am choosing a journey of self‑discovery to reclaim my confidence and power, so I can continue empowering women who are learning to balance life, career and personal growth just as I have”, explains Viljoen.
Mrs South Africa CEO Joani Jacobs notes that the programme continues to attract women who are ready for meaningful growth. “Mrs South Africa demands a serious commitment and high level of discipline. Women tend to discover parts of themselves they never knew existed, or thought they had lost long ago. It’s a transformative experience that sees dozens of women become their true selves and set their minds on achieving their goals, whatever those may be.”
As a semi-finalist, Viljoen will continue balancing her personal and professional responsibilities alongside the demands of the programme, while representing her community on a national stage.
“I love the woman I have become, because I fought to become her and this year, I’m ready to grow even stronger and lift other women as I rise,” she adds.
