VANDERBIJLPARK.- Jomo Cosmos suffered a 2-1 defeat against Rrr Rams FC on their home ground, Isak Steyl Stadium, on Sunday.
This fixture was supposed to take place on Saturday, but was moved to Sunday due to an event at the venue.

They had to play this fixture on the unfamiliar B Field, which is next to the hockey fields, however, the last-minute changes didn’t affect the home team as they seemed to enjoy playing on this field. Cosmos had the best first half, dominating their opponent, who had to defend with their back against the wall.

They enjoyed the freedom of this B Field, and it came as no surprise when they went to half-time break leading 1-0. However, Rams FC came into the second half like a house on fire, putting pressure on Cosmos’ defence.

The visitors were inspired by their “drama beating” supporters on the stands.
As soon as their supporters arrived, Rams FC started to regroup. The second half was a different ball game, with Rams FC looking dangerous every time they went forward. Cosmos defenders, especially their goalkeeper, Mabila Muimeleli, had a busy afternoon and made some brilliant saves.

He produced a man-of-the-match performance, but was let down by his defence. In fact, Cosmos’ individual error cost them the game.

In fact, after the visitors scored an equalising goal, Cosmos defended too deeply and allowed Rams FC to come at them. At this moment, Rams FC was all over Cosmos in search of a winning goal. The score could have been worse, but the attackers were denied by the on-form Muimeleli, who made some brilliant saves.

He stood between Cosmos’ win and defeat. However, Rams FC scored a winning goal after the Cosmos defender misjudged the ball. Cosmos made some changes; however, it was too late.
The game ended 2-1.
