Church Visit by Evaton SAPS to address GBVF

EVATON.- The Evaton police recognises the churches position in the community.

This, they proved, as they met the members of the St John Apostolic Church, crucial stakeholders in the prevention and response to GBV and promotes policy changes that address and combat GBV in Evaton on Sunday.

Police spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi, said that these initiatives are essential for creating welcoming and safe spaces in houses of worship where people can worship without worrying about prejudice or violence.

“Evaton SAPS puts in place awareness and education campaigns to teach community members and religious leaders about GBV and how to prevent it. We provide support for GBV survivors with hotlines, counselling, and treatment.”
