Human Rights Day walk a resounding success

Residents gathered as Executive Mayor Peter Teixeira led the Walk with the Mayor, highlighting community spirit and wellness.

The Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM) hosted its annual Walk with the Mayor event to mark Human Rights Day.

The event, led by Executive Mayor Alderman Peter Teixeira, fostered a spirit of unity, bringing together scores of residents.

The Walk with the Mayor initiative aims to promote social cohesion while encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle.

This year, a 10km route was introduced, catering to more enthusiastic walkers and runners, alongside the standard 5km route.

Participants took in Vaal Marina’s scenery, enjoying performances by cultural groups and energising aerobics sessions.

MLM has extended its appreciation to all residents who braved the weather to participate and contribute to making the day a memorable success.
