RUST-TER-VAAL.- As promised, Chineno “Boyca” Louw brought home two trophies from the SA Boxing Championships recently held in Limpopo.
In an exclusive interview with Sedibeng Ster Sport before the Championships, this Rust-ter- Vaal Boxing Club champ had promised that he would bring medals home.
True to his word, this week he came to Sedibeng Ster offices with medals hanging on his neck and two trophies in his hands. He was accompanied by his coach, Gerald Veeris, with smiles all over their faces.
Veeris proudly boasted that this was mission accomplished for the young boxer, taking into consideration how hard he had worked before the tournament.
“To be honest we anticipated this because I pushed him very hard at training. The boy was in great shape and it came as no surprise when he won in both the semi-final and final against Limpopo and KwaZulu-Natal opponents,”
said Veeris. Meanwhile, Veeris challenges all the young people in Rust-ter-Vaal to get involved in sports as this will help reduce crime in the area. Veeris also challenges parents to get involved by supporting their children.
