This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by the Organising Committee Spokesperson, Bafana Mayika. Apart from the marathon, a 5km Fun Run will kick-start the day’s programme in the morning at 6:00. Big names are expected to grace this anticipated marathon which is part of a Two Ocean Marathon qualifier. Mayika said that they are looking forward to making this event a success. He believes that there is going to be stiff competition, taking into consideration the nature of the competition.
“We have already started with preparations and the local organising committee is working tirelessly to make this event a success. “I have no doubt that this marathon will see great runners from all over Gauteng and other provinces battling it out for the top spots in the Two Ocean Marathon. We are waiting in anticipation for a great spectacle,” he said.
Mayika urges the Sedibeng community to come in numbers to support this event.
