Vaal duo in preliminary Bafana Bafana squad
The two Orlando Pirates young stars have been an important part of the Bafana Bafana team recently.

SEDIBENG.- Bafana Bafana Coach Hugo Broos has once again shown faith in the Sharpeville-duo, Relebohile Mofokeng and Tshepang Moremi, by including them in his preliminary squad.
The two Orlando Pirates young stars have been an important part of the Bafana Bafana team recently.
They were part of the Bafana Bafana team that participated in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Broos has announced his preliminary squad for the two international friendly matches against Panama later this month. These fixtures (March 23- April 1) are a key part of South Africa’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. To date, South Africa has drawn in Group A alongside Mexico and South Korea. These two are some of the powerhouses of football in the world.
Back to Mofokeng and Moremi, these two never stop making headlines in the domestic league, either by assisting or scoring goals for their club.
For example, Mofokeng has been named the Betway Premiership League Player of the Month for January/February. His hometown boy, Moremi, placed his name in South African football history when he scored in his first Soweto Derby.
He scored an opener when Pirates beat their bitter rivals, Kaizer Chiefs, 3-0 in the Betway Premiership League match recently.
No doubt the two will be in Broos’ final squad, looking at their individual performance at the moment.
They have been consistent for Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates. The Vaal will be well represented at the 2026 World Cup.
