The team is appealing for support from the community.
SEBOKENG.- Vaal Dojo Karate Club fighters have been selected to represent South Africa in an international karate tournament.
This international karate tournament is in Swaziland in October.
The Vaal Dojo Karate Club fighters that were selected to be part of the South African team are Mpho Ngo, Bongani Mkwayi, Madela Mkwayi, and Lerato Mohanoe.

The news was broken to Sedibeng Ster Sport by Sensei Mohanoe (Lerato), one of the club’s coaches, who is instrumental in the success of the club.
They continue the legacy of Sensei Buti Maqabe, who passed away last year.
In addition to the above-mentioned fighters, other fighters from this region have also been selected to represent South Africa in this tournament. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Mohanoe said it is a huge honour to be selected and represent the country.
Despite being a small team, they are aiming high
He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that this means a lot, that despite being such a small team, having four fighters selected to represent South Africa. Mohanoe said their biggest challenge is to raise funds to travel to Swaziland.
He said they have to raise funds to cover accommodation, traveling, and other related costs.
“We humbly appeal to Sedibeng businesses, companies, and individuals to come to our rescue financially. This is a dream come true for these youngsters, and they cannot afford to miss this opportunity. This opportunity comes once in a lifetime, and they must grab it.”
