SEDIBENG.- With the SAFA Sedibeng Hollywoodbets Men’s Regional League season coming to an end this weekend, it’s official: Boipatong FC and Ben 10 FC are the two teams to represent Sedibeng in the Inter-Regional Play-offs.

As things stand, the two teams will finish first and second on the log. Boipatong FC will finish at the top of the log, while Ben 10 FC will finish second on the log. This means the two teams will automatically represent Sedibeng in the SAFA Inter-Regional Play-offs, scheduled to take place either at Isak Steyl Stadium or at NWU Vaal Campus over two weekends.

Boipatong FC surprised many by being at the summit of the log for the better part of the second round of the season.

Ben 10 FC also came from nowhere to occupy the second spot on the log.

While Army Gym Shooting Stars FC has been kicked out of the league, the standings at the top of the table remain unaffected. Sedibeng Ster Sport was told that Shooting Stars FC was expelled from the league after they failed to honour their fixtures three times in a row.

According to SAFA rules, if a team fails to honour its fixture three consecutive times, they are automatically expelled from the league. This means that all teams that played against Shooting Stars FC will have either three or six points deducted from their totals.

This might affect the log standings, except the two top teams, Boipatong FC and Ben 10 FC, who seem unaffected by this regardless of the points that will be deducted from them. Boipatong FC was supposed to play against Army Gym Shooting Stars FC at Boipatong Stadium on Sunday; however, the game didn’t materialise as the Shooting Stars were expelled from the league after the Disciplinary Committee’s verdict.
