Relebohile Mofokeng set to make debut for his new club

According to his parents, the young midfielder has adapted quickly to his new surroundings.

SEDIBENG.- Former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana star Relebohile Mofokeng is set to make his unofficial debut for Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise this Saturday.

His parents, who are currently running the Relebohile Mofokeng Foundation Tournament in Sharpeville, revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport that the young star will feature in a pre-season friendly against Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven as part of his club’s training camp.

The Sharpeville-born teenager has been the talk of the South African football fraternity and has grabbed international headlines since securing his dream move to Belgium.

His transfer came as no surprise following an impressive campaign for Bafana Bafana at the Fifa World Cup 2026, where he stood out as one of the national team’s best players.

Mofokeng first burst onto the scene as one of the most exciting talents in South African football when Orlando Pirates promoted him to their senior team following stellar performances in the DStv Diski Challenge.

According to his parents, the young midfielder has adapted quickly to his new surroundings. They told Sedibeng Ster Sport that they remain in regular contact with him.

“He has already settled, and he is looking forward to the new season. He told us that he enjoys himself at his new club and has already been welcomed by the club’s fans,” they said.
