It’s almost time for Winter and Wine!
From June 5, opening times for wine tasting each Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays are 12 midday to 18:00 with the last table booking at 17:00 as the wine tasting lasts an hour.

The popular annual Vaal River Meander Wine Route is back this winter where over a dozen venues in the Vaal will showcase, uncork and pour South Africa’s finest wines.
Avid annual followers missed out on this winter treat last year due to lockdown, so demand for this charming winter treat should be high.
This year, The Vaal River Meander Wine Route will be hosted over nine weekends (and public holidays) from 5 June to 1 August at a broad selection of venues. With tastings of eight different wines at R50, each individually showcased winery will be represented by different venues on and around the banks of the Vaal River.
A very well-priced wine treat to beat the winter blues, considering that the fee for tasting wine in the Cape region is priced much higher.
From June 5, opening times for wine tasting each Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays are 12 midday to 18:00 with the last table booking at 17:00 as the wine tasting lasts an hour.
Bookings are essential, as space is limited. A designated area is set up with wine tasting done at individual tables with full Covid-19 safety protocols and social distancing followed to ensure the safety of guests.
The Vaal River Meander Wine Route is not only ideal for experienced wine connoisseurs, but also for those new to wine tasting.
It is a relaxed and pleasant well-priced winter outing, where one can learn to appreciate the wonderful wines South Africa boats, all in a welcoming environment. The different venues where you can enjoy all these tastings, are so diverse and offer contrasting experiences as do their wines; with the single common thread of each presenting great South African wines.
You might select a venue where you can enjoy eloquently sipping wine at a classy hotel; or in front of a roaring fireplace in a cosy pub; or wine tasting with a bit of trying your hand at Lady Luck; or enjoy wine tasting in a quirky pub that oozes fun and character; savour wine as you cruise aboard a luxurious cruiser down Millionaire’s Mile; or enjoy wine tasting with a delicious meal.
There are also optional extras to add to your experience, such as food and wine pairing by taxi or self-drive or enjoy special spa treatments packages put on to celebrate this winter treat. All of the venues will be selling wines at cost plus 10%, so wine lovers can capitalize on their favourite wines at very good prices.
If you’re in need of some fun this winter… gather your friends and family and treat yourselves to a winter treat that will cheer and warm you up!
