A better word
This Easter take a moment, sit down quietly and just breathe in God’s love and grace.
Hebrews 12:23-24 ESV “and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.”
In the book of Genesis, Abel was murdered by his brother Cain and his blood cries out for vengeance and so it speaks of judgement and retribution.
This can be such a vivid picture of what our world looks like today; pain, destruction and difficulty but this Scripture gives us hope because Christ’s blood speaks of God’s mercy and displays God’s desire to not only save us (John 3:16-17) but to empower us to live a life of purpose.
This Easter take a moment, sit down quietly and just breathe in God’s love and grace.
