BRONWYN TANNER: Tuning In – Donate to Lions’ Blanket Drive

Community news and events for the mid-South Coast area.

The Port Shepstone Lions Club is currently busy with a Blanket Drive. The public is encouraged to donate used (clean) or new blankets, which will be distributed to the needy for winter from May to August.

Drop-offs can be made at The Costume Shop at JTV Centre in Umtentweni (until the end of May) or at the Engen Garage at Oribi Plaza, Port Shepstone. Alternatively, contact 084 4048648.

Events:

* There is a fundraising golf day for Shaninlea Visser at Umdoni Park Golf Club on Sunday, June 2. For further information, contact 039 975 1615.

* TC Robertson Nature Reserve will host a Real Fresh Food and Farmers Market, with live music from Leandros Stavrou, on Sunday, June 2, from 10:00 to 15:00.

* Night market at Pennington Beach on June 21, from 15:00 to 20:00. The Beach Café will be open until 20:00.

* Tidy Towns Pennington golf day will take place at Umdoni Park on June 30. Funds raised will go towards paving the Pennington beach carpark. Sponsor a hole or a green. Donate prizes or cash. For more info, call 082 8879644 or 039 975 1320.

* Please note: the Pennington Rec Club Market Day at Relton Hall on Saturday, June 1, has been cancelled as roof repairs are in progress. The market will be back the first Saturday of every month from July 6.
