Sanral asks motorists to observe all warning signs.
SOUTH African National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) is about to begin construction work on the N2 between the Hibberdene interchange and the Mzinto River.
The project, which is is expected to take 14 months, should be completed in January 2015. It involves construction of the pavement layers and the resurfacing of this stretch of road. The interchanges and ramps along this route will also receive an upgrade on the pavement layers and surfacing.
According to a Sanral spokesman, Sanral has awarded the contract to KPMM Roads and Earthworks (Pty) Ltd, under the supervision of Naidu Consulting (Pty) Ltd.
Relevant signage will be erected to facilitate traffic accommodation during the construction period. Sanral asks motorists to exercise caution when travelling through the construction work zones as there will be construction equipment crossing over the N2.
Motorists are also urged to observe all warning signs for their own safety, the safety of other motorists and the safety of the workers on the road. Sanral apologises for any inconvenience caused.
