Honeymoon too hot to handle!

It was a fiery start to the marriage.

A DREAM wedding on the beach for a Delmas couple went up in smoke recently when their honeymoon chalet at Rocky Bay Lodge burnt to the ground. The wedding, which took place in a marquee on the beach was marred by a torrential downpour and an intense electrical storm.

The next day the newlyweds went to breakfast and when they returned to the chalet, they found it engulfed in flames. All their belongings, wedding gifts and the bridal dress were lost. Annien Koulountis, manager of the lodges at Rocky Bay, said it was believed the fire started in the main bedroom and a forensic audit was being conducted to establish the cause. She was extremely grateful that no-one was injured and thanked strangers who helped staff to contain the blaze before firemenarrived.
