Tent collapses at Izingolweni

Strong winds accompanied by a storm believed to be the main cause for the collapse.

CROWDS of people from Ntonga Ward five, Izingolweni had quite a scare when a tent collapsed on them last Monday. The tent was put up by the eZinqoleni Municipality.

According to a witness, strong winds, accompanied by a thunderstorm, were believed to be the main cause for the collapse.

The mayor, Amon Mpisi, was due to announce who would be handling the new road infrastructure project for the area.

Thulani Sithole spokesman, for the municipality, confirmed the incident. “Our service provider is a local, upcoming businessman. Luckily, there were no injuries reported,” he said.
