Blast off for Margate Challenge

Players had a wonderful time on the course and in the clubhouse as the fun and festivities flowed.

The Halfway Toyota Shelly Beach Margate Challenge has always been a great tournament, but this year it was even more so.

Played at Margate Country Club over two days, a full field of 120 golfers teed it up.

At the end of it all it came down to a countout on 99 points, this after Mercia Goldswain and Miranda Botha tied with Elsie Pretorius and Zane Goldswain.

In third place on 90 points were Jaco van Biljon and Lee Maree, who counted out Johan Stoltz and Johann Erasmus.

Fifth place went to Johan Williams and Eddie Roux on 89 points.

Taking sixth place on 87 points were Kobus and Mariaan Fick.

Club captain Carlos Pereira was delighted with the turnout and the overall success of the tournament. “It was an unbelievable two days of golf, with a full field,” he said.
