Go and walk for #Ya2i

Join this journey for a brighter future.

BE sure not to miss the South Coast Hospice‘s #Ya2i fun walk which takes place from Lilliecrona Boulevard at the Uvongo beachfront  on Saturday, December 10 at 10am.

Hospice has proudly introduced a new project, #Ya2i, to motivate and mobilise the youth of the Ugu District to lead a healthy lifestyle supported by family and friends and the community at large.

The fun walk consists of a 5km/10km route to promote healthy living. Adults pay R15, youth R10 and Ya2i youth members, R5.

Ya2i translated means ‘to know’ and, with this in mind, the aim is to focus on the youth and encourage them to know their HIV status, maintain their status and lead a healthy lifestyle, with healthy choices.

The day promises to have all ages fully entertained and there is something special in store for everyone. An acapella group from Gcilima, near Southbroom, called ‘White Bread’ will be performing on the day.

Dianne van Wyk, chief executive officer, said they are in need of sponsorship and assistance with goods or vouchers that will appeal to the youth.

“By becoming involved in this project you will be assisting the youth of the Ugu District to take care of themselves and their communities in living a healthy lifestyle.

“By partnering with hospice, which has 34 years of service, you will be part of a wonderful new initiative for the youth.”
