Cannibal suspect arrested in Izingolweni

One suspect is believed to be a traditional healer.

A MAN suspected of being involved in the recent Estcourt cannibalism case has been arrested in Izingolweni.

Police spokesman, Colonel Thembeka Mbhele confirmed late yesterday (Wednesday) that he was the sixth suspect to be arrested.

“The 25-year-old was hiding in the Izingolweni area. He was arrested and charged and will appear in court today (Thursday),” said Col Mbhele.

One suspect reportedly walked into a police station in Estcourt on August 18, claiming to be ‘tired of eating human flesh’ before producing part of a human leg and a hand.

The men will face charges including murder and the possession of human body parts.
