The theme this year is ‘Access to Safe Water by 2030, Possible through Nature’. The representatives highlighted the municipality’s objective to provide clean water to all who live in Ugu. They also emphasised that, according to the country’s constitution, all citizens had the right to this basic resource.

Pupils were taught about the dangers of water-borne diseases and were also encouraged to use water sparingly as water was a scarce resource.

They were eager to take part in the question and answer session after the presentation, as they received ‘prizes’ for answering correctly!

The school was very proud to see Thuthuko Mbewana, a former pupil, included in the Ugu delegation.
