Local heroes save a life

While enjoying the sun and holiday vibe, they spotted a 10-year-old child in trouble in the water and went in to rescue him.

Lifeguards Simthembile Hlongwa and Banele Mthwa were in the right place at the right time to save a life on New Year’s Day. This day is notoriously busy at all beaches and the two young men, who work at the Wild Waves water park, were on their lunch break when they decided to visit the beach.

The parents were unaware that their child was in trouble until Simthembile and Banele brought the boy safely to shore.
