South Coast police stations recognised for excellence

The awards recognise and honour the hard work and dedication displayed by officers.

South Coast police stations have excelled at the KwaZulu-Natal Service Excellence Awards.

The awards were presented by MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mxolisi Kaunda at the Durban ICC last Thursday.

They recognise and honour the hard work and dedication displayed by officers of the Road Traffic Inspectorate and the South African Police Service in the execution of their duties, and recognise the bravery, dedication and selflessness shown by men and women in uniform.

Police spokesman, Captain Petros Mpinge said Brigadier William Slabbert of Margate police station was named Best Brigadier in the province.

“Colonel Ralph Ruiters of Scottburgh police station was named Best Colonel while Msinsini police station, headed by station commander Lieutenant-Colonel Ntombomzi Basholo, took the second best police station in the province award,” said Capt Mpinge.

Port Shepstone police station came second in the station dealing with domestic violence cases category and third in the crime prevention category.

Ugu Cluster commander, Major General Sethenya Nxamagele commended the stations for flying the Ugu flag high and thanked all

local security companies and law enforcement agencies for their contribution towards these achievements.
