188 walkers embrace Shoreline Challenge
The next leg, from Shelly Beach (NSRI) to Lucien Beach takes place this Saturday (31st).
Friends, family, and plenty of four-legged companions turned the first leg of the 2026 Shoreline Challenge into a memorable outing.
Despite the fresh morning chill, an impressive 188 walkers made their way along the shoreline, enjoying the beautiful sunrise and ocean views.
Glen Preston, NSRI Shelly Beach station commander, thanked the organisers for allowing them to provide the breakfast and coffee, and the walkers for their contributions towards their fundraising efforts.
The next leg of the Shoreline Challenge takes place this Sunday (31st).
The 6.7km beach walk will start at Shelly Beach (NSRI) and finish at Lucien Beach, with registration opening at 07:30 and the walk starting at 08:00.
Entry costs R50, with both cash and card payments accepted.
Walkers can also enjoy boerie rolls and Ruth’s relish at the finish, available from Ivungu Conservancy for R50 each.
Don’t forget to bring a plastic bag to collect litter along the way.
