JUST IN: Animal lover Terrence of Rainbow Warriors dies

Messages of condolence have poured in on social media in remembrance of the work he did with animals.

Terrence Olivier, who ran an animal shelter called Rainbow Warriors South Africa in Hibberdene, died earlier today.

His nephew, Chad Swanepoel told the Herald that his uncle died of a heart attack at about 11am.

Hearing the news, Chad immediately travelled from Durban, and is currently seeing to the well-being of the animals which were being cared for by Terrence.

Chad confirmed that he had enough pet food for now, but would welcome any donations of food for both the cats and dogs at the shelter, many of which are rescues.

Chad said Terrence had dedicated his life to animals.

“Terrence is and always will be MY hero,” he added.
