EFF Ugu chairman Ncedo Njenga said women must learn to take charge and lead not only in their homes but also in their organisations and workplace.

He told the women to work hard to empower themselves first.

“We need to put pressure on the current government to create opportunities where more women will occupy leadership roles.”

Mr Njenga also spoke out against women abuse, saying men needed to take responsibility for their actions.

“If a woman says no, she means no. If she cheats or leaves you, let her leave, you have no right to hurt or kill her.”

EFF member of parliament Slindile Luthuli taught women how to build their mental muscle and told them not downplay down their success or let self-doubt impede their goals.

She said women needed to do away with the ‘pull one another down’ syndrome and uplift each other.
