Devotion: Right where you are
You can be absolutely assured as a born-again child of God that right where you are, He is also - Emmanuel, God IS with you.
You may at one time in childlike faith have believed that God is in heaven and certainly He is.
It is documented at a precious moment in time before all things had found their form and substance that the heavenly Father’s desired plan to be resident among and in us needed to be realised.
How it came into being was when He released His Son Jesus from heaven.

At that appointed time Jesus became our Saviour, our Emmanuel (which means God is with us).
I really believe that every living person would like to be absolutely assured of this truth – Emmanuel, God with us (God is with me) – right where you are.
During a vacation in the Drakensburg years ago a dreadful feeling came over me.
I felt that the Holy Spirit wasn’t with me anymore and with it came thoughts and feelings of such sadness and fear.
While walking back to our chalet I heard God say these comforting words to me, words I still remember and repeat often: “Mary Ann, wherever you are I am also there.”
What an amazing word of encouragement which impacted my life and brought waves of comfort.
King David himself also experienced many similar challenges.
He encouraged himself in the Lord, as we see in Psalm 139 v 7-10.
You can be absolutely assured as a born-again child of God that right where you are, He is also – Emmanuel, God IS with you.
