Khanya Hospice receives welcome donation

The medical supplies were gratefully received.

KHANYA Hospice received a generous donation of medical supplies from Dischem Foundation for its home based care programme recently.

Sister Sue van Rijsbergen, nursing manager at Khanya Hospice, was grateful for this donation as hospice was a non-profit organisation which received no government funding.

“Donations of this kind help not only the nursing staff, but also the patients to whom we offer free palliative nursing care,” she said.

“We have to find ways and means to do the best we can with the limited resources that we have,” added Neil McDonald, CEO of Khanya Hospice.

The hospice staff encourages the community to come forward with donations of any kind, but particularly furniture, clothing, crockery, and cutlery.
