Devotion: What is love?

GOD loves us in two ways.

First, God loves us so much that while we were still sinners He saved us.

This means we should serve the Lord out of thanks to Him.

Second, God shows His love for us by warning us of coming judgement.

As Jonah preaches to the wicked Ninevites in chapter 3:4, he says “Forty more days and Nineveh will be overthrown.”

In verse 5 the people believe Jonah and turn to the Lord when they realise they are heading for doom.

Unless we realise that God is going to judge the world, we will not understand why we need to be saved.

God has warned us take note and accept His love for us.

This is true love.
