Hospice hits the pool jackpot

The pool compo and fun day raised R 17 040 for the organisation.

The ‘Fallen Friends’ pool competition – a fundraiser for South Coast Hospice – was a resounding success.

Held at Van’s Road House in Margate last Saturday, the event raised incredible R17 040.

In addition to the pool competition, there was live music by Tony ‘Smartie’ van Zyl, and a jumping castle and other fun activities for children.

South Coast Hospice fundraising coordinator BT King said businesses, friends, family and all those who had been touched by the work South Coast Hospice does had come together to raise this remarkable amount for patients receiving palliative care.

“Our organisation salutes everyone for their dedication, enthusiasm and perseverance in their efforts to fund-raise.

“They have supported South Coast Hospice through the difficult times which has enabled us to continue offering palliative patient care within our local communities.”

The winner of the pool competition was Shane Knox.
