NOTICE: Planned water shutdown today, Wednesday, March 11

Water will be off from 6am to 3pm.

Ugu District Municipality has planned a partial emergency plant shutdown tomorrow, Wednesday, March 11 from from 6am to 3pm.

According to a statement, “We will be stripping and inspecting two supply gate valves on the 450/400 mm mainline to Umzimkhulu command reservoir for northern system (Albersville, Tweni, Sea Park, Sunwich Port, Southport, Melville, Pumula, Woodgrange and Hibberdene, as well as parts of KwaMadlala, Louisiana and Fairview).

“Marburg, Oslo Beach, Albersville and Margate CBD (2A reservoir), and the northern system will be affected as plant reservoir feeding systems (north and 300 south) will be allowed to drain  until they are empty before work can commence.

“Two southern main (600 mm and 375) will remain live during shutdown work to feed Seaslopes, Gamalakhe and Uvongo.”
