According to Peter Brereton, about 20 000 votes had been received from South Coasters. “Thanks go to all the sponsors who made this possible and to our wonderful community who got behind the competition and voted for Port Edward,” he said. Port Edward is the KZN finalist in the competition and the national winner will be announced on August 30.

The Port Edward community garden at the Methodist Church is looking marvellous, and is currently stocked with a variety of herbs and lettuce.

Peter encouraged everyone to support the initiative by buying fresh produce from the garden. The garden is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4pm to 5pm, and after church on Sundays.
